Septic system inspections are an important add-on to your home inspection because when you’re buying a home, the last thing you want to do is add more uncertainty to your life.
The septic system is basically a silent, invisible machine that you have no idea how it works or how the previous owners of the home took care of it.
The inspection is designed to take that weight off of your shoulders so you know the exact condition of the septic system of your possible new home.
Getting reliable answers about the condition of your home is simple with All Florida AmeriSpec.
As Florida’s trusted home inspection provider, we’ve performed more than 100,000 inspections over the last 35 years.
Our licensed and certified inspectors know a thing or two, because they have certainly seen a thing or two.
Without a septic system inspection, you may be vulnerable to hidden problems that could stay buried until they become too big to ignore. Septic systems are out of sight so they may stay out of mind. Issues could go unnoticed until they reach the point of entire system failure.
A few of the most noteworthy things we look at in septic system inspections are:
These potential hazards are particularly worrying because it can lead to further, more expensive repairs:
For all of these reasons and more, you’ll want to contact All Florida AmeriSpec to have your septic tank inspected.
Our goal is to give you clear, reliable answers about the condition of your home.
We will insert 10-12 dye tablets into the water systems and will run the water to fill the septic system. We check the leach field (soil/ ground) to see if any dye is visible. If so, this means that the septic system is not functioning property and needs immediate attention. It does not diagnose a specific problem. We also check for signs of past malfunction in the septic area and will check the drains and ground for blockage and drainage. We do not open the tank or inspect inside the system. We cannot do this inspection during heavy rainfall because of the lack of visibility of the dye in the leach field.
After the inspection is over, our inspector will create a curated inspection report for you to read and see all pictures of the test. Our goal is to leave you with no questions, so we cover everything in our scope in the report.
We introduce dye tablets into the plumbing system and run water to move the dye through the septic system.
We inspect the leach field and surrounding soil for visible dye, surface saturation, or signs of blockage that may indicate malfunction.
You’ll receive a detailed report with photos and clear explanations outlining our findings and any concerns observed during testing.
